Job Description:
Trillium Professional is now seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in the greater Hartford / New Haven Area, CT (On-site) for a direct-hire opportunity!

Workplace Flexibility:
On-site role initially, with potential hybrid flexibility after 3-4 months based on performance We are seeking a results-driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development, project execution, and new product quote development at their state-of-the-art facility in Central Connecticut. This individual will play a vital role in optimizing manufacturing processes, evaluating designs for manufacturability (DFM), and implementing lean engineering solutions to directly impact quality, cost, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Process & NPI Engineering:
  • Lead base business process improvements, continuous improvement projects, and New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Design, develop, and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment across precision metal machining, fabrication, and finishing processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead CAPA investigations to resolve technical issues and eliminate waste.
  • Establish standard work, process instructions, engineering drawings, equipment layouts, and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Ensure strict adherence to ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory standards.
Costing & Quote Development:
  • Evaluate engineering prints and customer specs for new business opportunities to generate accurate labor, material, and cycle-time estimates.
  • Partner with technical SMEs and commercial teams to propose Design for Manufacturability (DFM) improvements that optimize production costs and quality.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses for capital investments, process changes, and quote proposals.

Position Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within medical device contract manufacturing or high-precision metals manufacturing.
  • Strong background in metals machining, precision fabrication, tooling/fixture design, and sub-assembly processes.
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
  • Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing, root cause problem-solving, and process optimization.
  • Practical knowledge of
ISO / FDA
quality systems and GD&T principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and key customers.
