Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in bridging product development and full-scale production. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring processes are cost-effective, efficient, reliable, and aligned with quality standards. The role works closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges and optimize machining and assembly operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop proposals for automation, mechanization, process improvements, and specialized tooling Conduct studies on manufacturing methods, cycle times, and cost estimates for new or complex projects Evaluate new machines and equipment for production capabilities and provide recommendations for investment Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing to improve manufacturability Review engineering drawings and support design improvements related to production processes Assist in training and guiding team members on manufacturing methods and standards Maintain documentation including process specifications, test reports, and project summaries
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Experience in project management within a manufacturing environment CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred Knowledge of machining, mechanical systems, press fits, tolerances, and general manufacturing processes Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Westbrook, CT.
