Job Title:
Engineering Technician Job Description This role focuses on supporting the design, assembly, testing, and verification of satellite propulsion systems within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. The engineering technician executes detailed work instructions and test procedures, maintains critical documentation and databases, and contributes to root-cause investigations and continuous improvement efforts. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge space exploration technology in a fast-paced, highly collaborative setting. Responsibilities + Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to established standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements. + Perform propulsion system assembly, testing, and quality control tasks by following detailed work instructions and test procedures. + Develop and maintain propulsion assembly documentation at the subassembly level, including assembly reports, non-conformance reports, test procedures, test setups, tooling information, and manufacturing drawings. + Maintain and update test and inventory databases related to propulsion production activities to ensure accurate and traceable records. + Troubleshoot and support investigations into component anomalies and failures, including performing root-cause analysis and recommending dispositions. + Develop reference performance test plans and procedures, identify required hardware, and design appropriate test setups for propulsion subsystems. + Provide technical support for the production and testing of satellite propulsion systems throughout the product lifecycle. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support requirements validation, test architecture development, implementation of production work instructions, and verification of propulsion subsystems. + Establish and maintain strong working relationships with subsystem leads, systems engineering, integration and test teams, and other cross-functional partners. + Generate verification and validation plans and partner with integration and test teams to ensure subsystem requirements are fully met. + Understand and support component and subsystem interfaces to ensure proper integration and performance. + Prepare and deliver clear and concise presentations to peers, leadership, and customers as needed. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule to support production and test activities. + Perform additional related duties as required to support propulsion development, production, and test operations. Essential Skills + Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in electric propulsion assembly and testing. + Strong in space propulsion assembly, operation, and/or testing, with demonstrated experience executing detailed work instructions and test procedures. + Proficiency in testing activities related to propulsion systems and associated hardware. + Hands-on experience working with wire harnesses in an engineering or production environment. + Experience with electromechanical systems, including assembly, operation, or testing. + Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. + Ability to adapt and remain effective in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. + Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare documentation and present technical information. + Ability to maintain accurate test and inventory databases and documentation for propulsion production activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with assembly of propulsion or related electromechanical systems. + Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes for testing and troubleshooting. + Experience using signal generators in a test or development environment. + Knowledge and application of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls in a production or lab setting. + Soldering experience for electronic or electromechanical assemblies. + Experience working with vibration tables for environmental or qualification testing. + Familiarity with sensors and actuators used in propulsion or related systems. + Experience with calibration of test equipment or instrumentation. + Strong interest in space exploration and satellite propulsion technology. + Motivation to contribute to cutting-edge space exploration projects in a competitive and innovative environment. Work Environment This is an onsite role with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The position is primarily based on the manufacturing floor, working closely with production, test, and engineering teams. You will work with propulsion systems, electromechanical assemblies, wire harnesses, and a variety of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, vibration tables, and calibration tools. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and focused on the development and production of advanced satellite propulsion systems. Dress code is appropriate for a manufacturing and test floor setting, supporting safe and effective hands-on work with hardware and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
