Manufacturing Engineer Luminsea Opa-locka, FL Job Details Full-time From $50,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Mechanical Engineering Full Job Description Manufacturing Engineer - Channel Markers Luminsea | Marine Navigation Products Role Overview Luminsea is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize the production of our channel marker product line. This role is central to ensuring our marine navigation products are built to the highest standards of quality, durability, and reliability for real-world waterway deployment. Core Responsibilities Design, develop, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for channel marker assemblies Define tooling, fixturing, and equipment requirements for efficient production Develop and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and assembly documentation specific to channel marker builds Collaborate with product design engineers to ensure markers are optimized for manufacturability and marine serviceability (DFM/DFS) Drive quality initiatives including FMEA, inspection plans, and process controls aligned with marine environment requirements Troubleshoot production issues related to structural integrity, sealing, buoyancy components, and lighting systems Support new product introduction (NPI) and design iterations from prototype through full production Ensure all products meet relevant marine safety and regulatory standards (e.g., USCG, IALA, ISO) Work with supply chain to qualify components and materials suited for saltwater and UV exposure Identify and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and lead times Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Marine Engineering (or related field) Experience manufacturing products for marine, offshore, or outdoor environments strongly preferred Familiarity with materials such as fiberglass, polyethylene, aluminum, or other corrosion-resistant materials Knowledge of waterproofing, sealing, and marine-grade coating processes Experience with LED or solar-integrated assemblies a plus Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and GD&T Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on production floor presence Knowledge of relevant certifications and compliance standards for marine navigation aids Why Luminsea Join a team dedicated to improving waterway safety through innovative, reliable marine products.
