Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer supports production operations by leading problem-solving initiatives, sustaining manufacturing processes, and ensuring products are produced in alignment with original R D design specifications. This role focuses on troubleshooting, process improvement, and operational efficiency to maintain reliable production performance while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Support the transfer of products and processes from R D into production, ensuring effective implementation, documentation, and operational readiness. Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., Red X, Fishbone, 5 Whys) and implement corrective and preventive actions. Manage and track operational issues using visual management tools (e.g., scrum boards) to ensure timely escalation and resolution. Analyze manufacturing processes and performance data to identify opportunities for quality, yield, and efficiency improvements. Develop and implement manufacturing processes based on product requirements, testing needs, and equipment capabilities. Improve manufacturing efficiency through workflow optimization, equipment layout planning, and process standardization. Design and implement testing methods to ensure product and process quality. Monitor key operational metrics including on-time delivery, yield, scrap, rework, and waste, and drive improvement initiatives. Lead cost improvement projects focused on yield optimization, waste reduction, and overall manufacturing efficiency. Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing documentation, procedures, and standard operating practices. Train and support technicians and production teams on new processes, equipment, and process improvements. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities to ensure production equipment remains operational and reliable. Lead value stream mapping initiatives to identify and implement Lean manufacturing improvements. Collaborate cross-functionally with production, planning, purchasing, and quality teams to improve operational performance and support customer delivery commitments. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards, including OSHA requirements. Promote and support a culture of Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement. Qualification Experience Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment. Experience supporting manufacturing operations, process improvement, and troubleshooting in a production setting. Technical Skills Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred. Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to analyze manufacturing data and operational metrics to drive improvement initiatives. Experience with process development, production support, and manufacturing troubleshooting. Core Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
