Job Title:
BMS Engineer Job Description The Controls Design Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle design, documentation, integration, and commissioning support of Building Management Systems (BMS) for hyperscale data center environments. This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water topologies, and mission-critical mechanical infrastructure. Responsibilities Design and develop BMS control drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD. Create and maintain control sequences, points lists, network architectures, and as-built data for data center BMS design. Monitor and control HVAC systems, includingCRAC/CRAH
units, chillers, and cooling towers. Manage power systems such as generators, UPS, and switchgear monitoring. Implement environmental monitoring for temperature, humidity, airflow, and leak detection. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and IT teams to ensure BMS integration across all critical systems. Review construction documents to ensure BMS designs align with data center redundancy and uptime requirements. Assist with system commissioning, functional testing, and validation. Troubleshoot BMS hardware, software, and network issues. Support system upgrades, expansions, and optimization efforts. Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and best practices. Provide technical support to operations and facilities teams as needed. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience with building automation systems or building management systems from design to turnover. Previous project experience within data center or mission critical builds. Experienced in chilled water systems and white space cooling strategies. Proficiency in BACnet/IP, Modbus, and TC/ICP networking. Experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam for design purposes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electrical distribution systems, controls, and integration. Knowledge of mission-critical environments and data centers. Work Environment The position can be based out of the Covington, Georgia office or on-site at Michigan City, Iowa, depending on project needs. The role involves working on new data center projects, providing opportunities for growth and development in the field. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Covington, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
