Manufacturing Engineer Griffin, GA Job Summary:
The Large Power Systems Division currently has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer at our Griffin, Georgia facility. In this role, you will provide critical support and guidance on all aspects of production, including costs, quality, compliance with safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing operations. Our Griffin, Georgia facility is recognized for its assembly of a diverse range of power generation products. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the assembly process for multiple product lines while ensuring operational excellence at every stage. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who can lead process development projects focused on the continuous improvement of safety protocols, quality standards, production velocity, and cost efficiency in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with production teams, quality assurance, and supply chain to identify opportunities for optimization and implement sustainable solutions that drive measurable results. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on our manufacturing operations while working with cutting-edge power generation technology in a dynamic and innovative environment.
What you will do:
Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to equipment, tooling, standard work, and processes. Monitoring equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas. Analyzing engineering change notices, determines any part or process change, initiates and implements all changes. Providing engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.
Skills you will have:
Collaborative Automation:
Basic understanding of techniques and processes of collaborative automation; ability to develop and deploy cobots to automate manufacturing processes.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Basic understanding of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Engineering -
MFG:
Working knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
Lean Manufacturing:
Basic understanding of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Manufacturing Processes:
Working knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
Problem Solving:
Basic understanding of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar disciplines. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with Visio and/or CAD Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams Knowledge and implementation of HOP methodologies Basic understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Additional Information This role is located in Griffin, GA Domestic relocation is available for this position. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Summary Pay Range:
$81,370.00 - $122,060.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
