Summary/Objective The Engineering Intern will support the engineering team with daily technical tasks, process improvements, and project-based work. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Assist engineers with design, documentation, and process development activities 2. Support creation and updates of drawings, SOPs, and OPLs (open project lists) 3. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts 4. Collect, analyze, and report data to support engineering decisions 5. Assist with troubleshooting equipment or process issues on the shop floor 6. Maintain and organize engineering documentation and files 7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, and maintenance 8. Observe and support production activities to gain practical understanding of processes 9. Support Engineering Department on an as needed basis for any open topics that support the Engineering department's success in operations or additional project work. Competencies Technical Capacity. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. In order to meet our customers' demands this role may be required to perform work outside of business hours including weekends. Travel No travel assigned for this position outside of travel needed for training or supplier evaluations. Required Education and Experience 1. Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field 2. Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 4. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) preferred 5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 6. Effective communication and willingness to learn in a team environment Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in technical related fields such as industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering Tier 1 automotive experience Experience with hot and/or cold forming metal parts Experience with robot, automation and press systems Additional Eligibility Qualifications None required for this position Work Authorization/Security Clearance This role is supported for work authorization.
