Position Title:
Project/Design Engineer (PE)PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION
This role is an integral part of successfully completing MIP's projects by coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project timelines, and ensuring that all technical aspects meet the required standards. Project Engineers play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality of MIP standards. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams within or outside the company.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist sales team with the promoting, selling, and securing orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
- Define, meet, exceed project targets for all projects.
- Develops and maintains business relationships through communication with customers and vendors.
- Assist MIP team in organizing daily activities and functions, as it pertains to project needs.
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers' engineering teams to properly service the needs of customers by coordinating and executing equipment and project layout designs.
- Negotiate delivery, availability, and warranty within management guidelines and conduct follow-up on orders.
- Communicates knowledge of products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their project needs.
- Identifies advantages and compares organization's products/services.
- Develop and recommend plans to improve customer experience with MIP.
- Research sources for developing better processes.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
- Stay informed about competitors, industry issues, products, and markets related to motion control products.
- Continuously improve product knowledge and sales skills through external professional and technical training programs.
- Prepare and conduct customer education, training, and product information meetings.
- Participate in sales meetings, product training seminars, and trade shows.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a STEM-related field, with experience in complex mechanical systems.
- Mechanical background in industrial and commercial settings, with knowledge of mechanical and electrical components and systems, particularly air quality equipment.
- Ability to learn and use 3D modeling tools, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Takeoff, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with a working understanding of QuickBooks accounting software.
- Ability to travel 25%.
- US citizenship.
