Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Investigates manufacturing operations to determine areas for process improvements. Recommends process changes where justifiable by cost studies.
Goal:
To manufacture products by the most favorable method. Determines methods for manufacture during design of new products. Recommends design modifications to permit manufacture by the most favorable method. Provides engineering advice, compiles data, and determines probable costs for process improvements projects. Provides engineering services to the Quality Assurance and Manufacturing departments. Develops and implements plant and equipment layouts to accommodate changing needs of operations and manufacture in the most cost-effective manner. Examines documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data. Creates and maintains documentation for standardization of procedures. Confers with document originators or engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents. Responsible for the engineering and related functions of his/her assigned manufacturing operations including a) The set-up and maintenance of labor standards. b) Methods, processes and procedures analysis and work simplification techniques. c) Analyzing and processing engineering change requests. d) Troubleshooting technically challenging problems (machinery, equipment, processes); and e) Analyzing for improvement to labor, manufacturing costs, variances, and margins. Handles special assignments such as directing production planning, providing technical support, processing, and quoting new products and/or prototypes. Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Achieve and maintain OSHA compliance in all facets of the facility. Resolves ergonomic issues in production and takes all appropriate countermeasures to protect personnel & property. Maintains professionalism consistent with company's policies. Performs all work in a safety conscious manner. Be aware of dangers and take all appropriate counter measures to protect yourself and others around you. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company's housekeeping policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in SolidWorks, CAD software, logic controllers, tooling design, schematics interpretation, assembly processes, GD&T principles.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues effectively.
  • Prefer three (3) to five (5) years of experience in hydraulic cylinder manufacturing, plating, or related/equivalent manufacturing arena (grinding, turning, cutting, milling, NC/CNC machinery and programming languages), and CAD/CAM.
  • Personal computer experience preferred, with emphasis on usage in Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP/MRP applications.
  • Prefer strong working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
  • Strong analytic and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead/facilitate problem solving and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work across organizational lines and to interact with others.
