Job Description

Design Engineer Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Design Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in examining requests from various departments such as production, service, and technical publications. You will utilize your expertise in Solidworks and Autocad to implement design changes and collaborate with product design teams for significant modifications. Additionally, you will manage engineering change orders and support production inventory by liaising with vendors or switching suppliers. Responsibilities Examine requests from production, service, and other engineering teams for necessary changes or updates. Utilize Solidworks and Autocad to implement design changes. Collaborate with product design teams on large design changes. Work with vendors or switch suppliers to support production inventory. Assist in implementing changes on the production floor if needed. Create engineering change orders within BOM, PDM, etc. Manage the ECN system for timelines and requests. Follow up on field requests as they arise. Essential Skills Proficiency in Solidworks and Autocad. Experience with engineering change orders. Strong mechanical engineering and design skills. Knowledge of sheet metal and heavy equipment design. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering. 6+ months of experience with Solidworks. Previous experience with ECN is preferred. Work Environment You will be part of a team consisting of ten engineers, including three contract engineers. The environment is collaborative, with frequent interactions with production. You will work in a cubicle-style setting with your direct team and occasionally visit the production floor and other plants for meetings. The dress code is 'dress for your day,' allowing jeans and a polo, but steel-toed boots are required. Work hours are Monday to Friday, starting between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pella, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
