RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS

Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange the purchase of equipment, materials and parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Engineering and technology

• knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Production and processing
• knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Computers and electronics
• knowledge of processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Mathematics
• education and understanding of which mathematics to use and the ability to choose the proper mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem. Critical thinking
• using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in either Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering At least 3-5 years of engineering experience
