Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working a flexible schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with start times as early as 6:00 AM or as late as 8:30 AM, averaging 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing process and product modifications, enhancing standards, and driving improvements. You will utilize your knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes to increase product quality, output, and cost-effectiveness. Lean tools and thinking will be essential in improving value streams, conducting workflow analysis, and leading process improvement and change within the organization. Responsibilities Support the appraisal of new product ideas to determine their potential to address customer needs and achieve goals in revenue growth and market share. Design, analyze, test, and integrate components to produce final designs, evaluating the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Develop, execute, and evaluate fitness for use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans. Work in cross-functional teams and manage all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, ensuring successful completion within an appropriate time and cost. Prepare or secure and review cost estimates, complete required cost and equipment information, and write appropriation requests. Essential Skills Ability to read blueprints. Proficiency in process improvement and lean manufacturing. Basic understanding of machining. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS degree in Engineering required. Minimum of 2 years of experience; more experience is preferable. Experience in any CNC or assembly environment is a plus. Work Environment The work environment involves manufacturing and assembling filtration systems for aerospace and defense applications. The company employs around 200 people, with a growing engineering team currently consisting of 4 members, and plans to add 2 more due to growth. The facility is equipped with CNC machines, punch presses, and cleating machines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dixon, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $58.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
