Full Job Description Design Engineer Job Description Company Description:

Tech Global manufactures commercial grade Touchscreen Displays ranging on sizes 17" up to 85". Our products fit well in all environments including Hospitality, Government, Education, Healthcare, Retail, Corporate, Gaming, Kiosk and more. This position is responsible for turning ideas for products into functional prototypes using efficient and affordable processes. This position collaborates with other staff on the product design, research and development, marketing and manufacturing to create highly functional products that are profitable.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Design, 3D model, and test prototypes for products including sheet metal, billet material, die casting, plastics and others
  • Conduct research and create design proposals for projects
  • Create concepts, performance, and production criteria
  • Identify and select materials needed for production
  • Produce final 2D drawings and specifications for manufacture
  • Send out designs for quote and communicate with suppliers
  • Utilize engineering practices to increase production efficiency, quality, and repeatability
  • Possible assistance for technicians in assembly of displays and touch screens when necessary
  • Sales engineering technical support via phone or on site
  • New supplier procurement including multi-sourcing
  • Product cost reduction through redesign or new supplier procurement
  • Production assembly training for new and existing products
  • Production/clean room and assembly tool knowledge, supply, and setup
  • Engineering, assembly, and instructional documentation
  • Custom tool and fixture design for manufacturing
  • Product certification management including UL and others
  • Computer operating systems knowledge and diagnosing
  • Electrical and mechanical systems troubleshooting
  • Engineering project management including scope and timelines
  • Build of Materials creation and management in Inventory System
  • Inventory System part creation and revision updates

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
