The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer III is responsible for leading the development, implementation, optimization, and sustainment of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, and equipment for new and existing products. This role independently supports manufacturing and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs by driving manufacturability, process capability, quality, safety, and operational efficiency. The position works closely with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Production to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), process validation, and production readiness activities. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer III also supports continuous improvement initiatives, mentors less experienced engineers, and contributes to the successful transition of products from development into production while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements. Major Responsibilities :

Independently support medium to high complexity manufacturing and NPI programs from concept through production release. Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and process optimization activities with cross-functional teams. Participate in the NPI Stage Gate process by supporting manufacturing planning, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews, PFMEA activities, process validation efforts, tooling and fixture development, manufacturing risk assessments, and production readiness activities to ensure successful transition from development into production. Develop and improve machining, assembly, inspection, and production methodologies to improve quality, throughput, and manufacturability. Support process validation activities including IQ, OQ, PQ, capability studies, and first article inspection activities. Perform root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for manufacturing and quality-related issues. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cost, improving yield, minimizing variation, and increasing operational efficiency. Evaluate manufacturing risks and support PFMEA activities for new and existing processes. Support development and implementation of manufacturing standards, procedures, and engineering best practices. Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001
requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. Support supplier and outside processing development activities as needed. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level manufacturing engineers. Participate in technical design reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews, and process development activities. Support equipment selection, implementation, process qualification, and capital improvement initiatives. Work closely with production personnel to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and improve overall process performance. Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation including routers, procedures, process flows, work instructions, and engineering records. Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field. 6-9 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience supporting production, process development, advanced manufacturing, or New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. Experience in aerospace, defense, precision machining, medical devices, semiconductor, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Experience supporting CNC machining, precision assembly, tooling, fixturing, inspection, automation, or advanced manufacturing processes preferred. Strong working knowledge of manufacturing process development, process validation, root cause corrective action (RCCA), and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience leading or supporting PFMEA, DFM/DFA
reviews, process optimization, manufacturing risk reduction, and production readiness activities. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, capability studies, and process control methodologies preferred. Experience working within AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485, or other regulated quality management systems preferred. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing requirements. Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), ERP/MRP systems, manufacturing documentation, and engineering change processes. Experience supporting cross-functional teams within engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain environments preferred. Ability to independently manage medium to high complexity manufacturing projects and initiatives with minimal supervision.
