Daily Responsibilities Lead controls engineering efforts for new automated manufacturing equipment, from specification through commissioning Develop and define user requirements, control systems, and SCADA architecture for high-volume production lines Oversee OEM machine builds to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and design specifications Support installation, FAT/SAT, validation, and commissioning of automation and material handling systems Troubleshoot and resolve equipment downtime, electrical issues, and automation failures Optimize PLC programs, HMI interfaces, SCADA systems, and MES integrations to improve productivity and yield Manage machine software, firmware, and user access controls to ensure system integrity Analyze equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions Enhance and maintain vision inspection systems (Cognex, Keyence, Fanuc) Establish preventative maintenance procedures and improve troubleshooting capabilities across teams Train maintenance and production personnel on control systems and troubleshooting techniques Provide on-call technical support for critical system issues and outages Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 7+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or industrial automation environments Strong expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC programming and HMI systems Proficiency with tools including RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk SE, Ignition, and Cognex Experience designing and supporting fault-tolerant control systems Working knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ProfiNet) and communication protocols Experience with VFDs, servo drives, instrumentation, and control hardware selection Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, automation, and embedded systems Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated environments Familiarity with vision systems and inspection technologies Experience with Beckman or B&R (ABB) PLCs Knowledge of RFID systems, PID control loops, and serial communication protocols Apply Today!
