(DSN) is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer focused on Casting Process Development to join our team in Mapleton, IL . This is an onsite role working 10-hour shifts, Monday

Position Overview This role is responsible for developing the manufacturing process to enable centrifugal casting, including the associated manufacturing parameters. The role is a mix of research & development and hands-on execution of the associated Design of Experiments (DOEs). Key objectives of this work include: Elimination of silica exposure risk associated with traditional casting methods Single-piece product flow with full traceability $1M+ in cost savings per year, per machine Typical Day or Week in the Role Prepare and start up equipment for the day Document results from prior day's experiments and findings Execute the daily DOE task Hand off to counterpart on the trailing shift Discuss results from the prior day Document adjustments for the daily task Communicate any needs or roadblocks Participate in weekly update meetings with leadership Work Environment This role is primarily shop floor based (approximately 75%). Required PPE includes steel-toed boots with metatarsal guards, foam-sealed safety glasses with strap, FR pants and jacket, and a bump cap. Requirements Education & Experience 2-4 years of industrial experience required Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; an Associate's degree will be considered with 4+ years of relevant experience, and a Master's degree will be considered with a minimum of 2 years of experience Required Skills Manufacturing safety GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) Problem solving Microsoft Office Hands-on aptitude Familiarity with foundry processes Self-starter Desired/Nice-to-Have Skills Power BI Microsoft Power Apps Familiarity with machining processes Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Vision Insurance Disability insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Paid Holidays Please follow the link to our website for a list of job openings in Engineering, IT, Project Management, and more!
