  • $105,000Founded in 1911, this global electrical equipment and grid technology company employs approximately 1,000 to 5,000 people worldwide, with more than 2,000 employees across its Chicago area operations and an estimated 200 to 300 employees supporting the Palatine, Illinois manufacturing facility.
The organization designs and manufactures advanced switching, protection, and control solutions for electric power transmission and distribution systems, enabling utilities and industrial customers to build safer, more reliable, and more resilient electrical infrastructure.

The Palatine facility is a critical manufacturing site focused on production, assembly, and quality of grid resiliency technologies, including smart switching equipment, automation systems, and power distribution components. This location supports high volume and high precision manufacturing operations and plays a key role in delivering reliable products that support grid modernization, renewable energy integration, and system reliability across North America.

The organization serves customers in electric utilities, renewable energy, industrial operations, data centers, and government and infrastructure markets that require consistent, high quality electrical systems and power delivery solutions.

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will ensure manufacturing processes and products meet strict quality standards by driving continuous improvement, resolving issues, and strengthening quality systems within a fast paced production environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and maintain manufacturing quality control processes to ensure products meet specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.

Investigate and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis, corrective actions, and data driven problem solving methodologies.

Conduct process audits and support compliance with quality management systems such as
ISO 9001
to ensure consistent execution of manufacturing standards.

Partner with operations, engineering, and production teams to reduce cost of poor quality, improve yield, and prevent defects across manufacturing processes.

Analyze quality metrics and feedback to identify trends, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support long term process and product enhancements.

Required and Preferred QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field with 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment supporting electrical equipment, industrial products, or similar engineered systems.

Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.

Knowledge of quality tools and systems including root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
Nice to have:
Experience with Power BI or data visualization tools, familiarity with electrical or power systems products, and exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
