Process Engineer

Process Engineer Job Description We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to optimize our sheet metal fabrication processes. This role involves developing work instructions, supporting prototype builds, and collaborating with design teams to ensure manufacturability. The ideal candidate will drive Lean initiatives and troubleshoot fabrication and quality issues. Responsibilities Optimize sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, welding, powder coating, and assembly. Develop work instructions and process documentation. Support prototype builds and transition to production. Troubleshoot fabrication and quality issues. Improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and drive Lean initiatives. Collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM). Essential Skills Experience in manufacturing engineering and process engineering. Proficiency in Lean manufacturing principles. Experience with POP (point of purchase) processes. Minimum of 5 years in design engineering. Proficient in 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools, with SolidWorks being ideal. Strong written and oral communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field preferred. Experience in metal fabrication. Knowledge of injection molding, vacuum forming, and electrical engineering is a plus. Adequate knowledge of engineering standard practices. Creativity and strong analytical skills. Ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly and understandably. Work Environment The company fosters a family-oriented culture with a privately held structure. The engineering team consists of 5 members within a company of 100 employees. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Rockford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr. benefits available upon job offer Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Rockford,IL.
