Position Overview We are seeking a Design Automation Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in advancing our digital engineering capabilities. This position focuses on developing intelligent automation solutions that streamline product design, improve engineering efficiency, and support configurable product offerings across our industrial automation portfolio. The successful candidate will combine mechanical design expertise with software development skills to build scalable automation tools, optimize engineering workflows, and integrate design systems with enterprise applications. Primary Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated engineering solutions using CAD automation platforms, including DriveWorks and

SOLIDWORKS.

Create configurable product models that allow engineers, sales teams, and customers to generate accurate product designs based on predefined engineering logic. Build and manage rule-based configuration systems for multiple product lines while ensuring consistency, usability, and scalability. Partner with mechanical engineers, software developers, manufacturing personnel, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into automated design solutions. Integrate configuration applications with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, PLM/PDM, and customer-facing digital platforms. Develop and maintain SQL databases that support engineering automation, product configuration, and design data management. Write and maintain scripts and custom applications using Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages to enhance automation capabilities. Validate configurator functionality through testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure reliable performance. Support engineering change management and maintain revision control for automated design assets and associated documentation. Create technical documentation including configuration logic, database structures, programming standards, integration workflows, and user guides. Work with cross-functional teams to improve engineering processes, reduce manual design effort, and increase product standardization. Monitor application performance using modern diagnostic and observability tools while identifying opportunities for optimization. Evaluate emerging software technologies and recommend enhancements that improve engineering productivity and automation capabilities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence throughout engineering and manufacturing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience creating mechanical designs and assemblies using

SOLIDWORKS.

Hands-on experience developing engineering automation or product configuration solutions. Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering workflow automation. Experience working with relational databases and SQL. Programming knowledge in Python, JavaScript, C#, or comparable languages. Familiarity with version control systems and engineering data management platforms such as Git or

SOLIDWORKS PDM.

Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills with exceptional attention to detail.
