Job Description:
Design Engineer (Solidworks) We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer with a strong proficiency in Solidworks to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to create precise drawings and bills of materials. The role involves working closely with sales teams and controlling the ECO process, while contributing to the success of our projects with accuracy and strong communication skills. Responsibilities Control the ECO process while maintaining open communication with sales teams. Learn and apply calculations for pressure vessels using Codeware. Manage internal ERP by controlling item masters, BOMs, and routing steps. Adapt and integrate internal manufacturing capabilities. Serve as the controller for PDM. Prepare diagrams and drafts for mechanical devices and machines. Calculate dimensions and tolerance stack up using measuring instruments. Comprehend and utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Review and modify designs to reduce production deficiencies. Provide timely updates for drawing completion and workload. Coordinate with colleagues regarding complex diagrams. Essential Skills Associate's degree in a related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred. 2-3+ years of mechanical design experience. Proficient with Solidworks, PDM, and related software. Familiarity with large assemblies in Solidworks. Experience in mechanical drafting, manufacturing, or related fields. Strong experience in welding and weldment prints. Familiarity with machine designs and diagrams. Experience with machine drawings, preferably with GD&T. Strong attention to detail and deadline-oriented. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with ECO process and BOMs. Knowledge of design engineering, mechanical design, and CAD. Experience with weldments and machine design. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Third Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
