JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to support one of our largest material handling logistics clients in Columbus, Indiana. This individual will serve as the project lead for production process optimization and robotic automation initiatives, driving efficiency across operations. The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, procuring, and integrating large-scale capital projects, developing strategies from concept through execution. This role requires close cross-functional collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, and external vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-impact solutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials, Chemical) OR associate degree in a technical field with relevant experience OR sufficient internship experience
• 0-7 years of experience in an industrial environment, including improving process, part, and inventory flow to support production automation and identifying opportunities for part?flow optimization and industrial floor layout changes
• Experience with Value Stream Mapping (this visually maps every step required to deliver a product or service to reveal how work actually flows and where waste, delays, or inefficiencies occur
• including both material flow (how parts move) and information flow (how instructions move)
• Experience reviewing specifications and spec sheets, developing justifications for new equipment, and supporting the investigation, design, planning, and management of multimillion?dollar capital projects for process flow optimization
• Background serving as a project expert and supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment
