We are seeking a Design & Engineering Project Coordinator to support our design and engineering team while serving as an important point of contact for both existing and growing customer relationships. This is a hands-on position that combines design and engineering knowledge, project coordination, manufacturing experience, and customer communication. The ideal candidate understands how custom products move from initial concept and design through engineering, manufacturing, installation, and ongoing customer support.
ResponsibilitiesThe Design & Engineering Project Coordinator will assist with projects from initial concept through completion.
Responsibilities:
Participating in customer meetings, conference calls, and video conferences Coordinating designs, engineering drawings, prototypes, and customer approvals Coordinating color, material, and finish samples Assisting with pricing, estimating, and value engineering Tracking customer requests, revisions, approvals, and project changes Maintaining awareness of active projects, schedules, and outstanding action items Following up with customers and internal team members to keep projects moving Communicating project requirements and changes to engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and other departments Maintaining accurate project documentation and correspondence Hosting customer visits, prototype reviews, and fixture inspections Assisting customers with replacement components, damaged products, field issues, and other concerns after delivery Helping identify and resolve design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation issues as they arise
Qualifications:
Candidate should have a working understanding of furniture, cabinetry, architectural millworker, retail fixtures, or similar custom-manufactured products, including knowledge of common materials, hardware, construction methods, and manufacturing processes. A basic understanding of modern CNC manufacturing and Industry 4.0 equipment and processes is important. Experience or working knowledge in the following areas is preferred: SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office Project coordination and documentation Reading and understanding technical drawings Manufacturing processes and CNC equipment Customer communication and relationship management What we're looking for: The successful candidate will be technically knowledgeable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating directly with customers. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining accurate documentation and following through on commitments. The individual should be comfortable participating in technical and design discussions with customers while also working closely with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and management. As experience and knowledge develop, the individual will assume greater responsibility for projects, customer relationships, and project decision-making.
