Position Overview The Manufacturing and Controls Engineer will work closely with the Mount Vernon operations and maintenance teams to provide daily and project support in our extrusion and coating operations. The candidate should have experience programming and trouble-shooting PLC-based control systems, primarily Siemens and Allen Bradly infrastructure. The Engineer will evaluate operational data and obtain feedback from the operators to identify improvement opportunities related to yield and productivity. Working with the Maintenance teams they will evaluate and support improvements to the Preventative Maintenance programs (hosted in SAP) to increase equipment reliability and uptime. Capital project support will include Safety, Quality and operational improvements across the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent problem solving skills (Six Sigma methods) and utilize our MOC, DocuQuest and SAP systems to ensure changes are documented and sustainable. Key Responsibilities Provide engineering support to operations and maintenance teams Manage Capital projects, especially where controls upgrades are required Provide technical support related to analysis of yield and performance data Manage and drive implementation of maintenance and reliability procedures Drive execution of and continuous improvement of existing equipment maintenance strategies Track and report performance metrics, especially yield and uptime Utilize the SAP, DocuQuest and MOC systems to improve documentation Requirements Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering or related industrial Field At least 2 years working chemical industry or manufacturing related environment Good organizational skills Able to communicate well in both open presentation and written report conditions Focus on analysis and problem solving Six Sigma and/or Lean training preferred
