Paid time off and paid holidays Position Overview Reliance One is hiring a CAD Technician for one of our established automotive manufacturing clients. This position will support digital manufacturing initiatives within a final assembly production engineering group. The CAD Technician will use advanced digital tools to improve manufacturing preparation for new-model introductions, conduct simulations and engineering studies, update layouts, and manage 3D assembly data. This opportunity is open to early-career candidates, including recent graduates who have strong academic, internship, project, modeling, or simulation experience. Responsibilities Support project planning for upcoming vehicle model changes. Conduct simultaneous engineering studies related to vehicle assembly. Manage technical data and complete manufacturing feasibility studies. Create and update 3D models, layouts, assemblies, and digital manufacturing environments. Perform 3D studies, simulations, and finite element analysis. Use digital tools such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, Navisworks, and related simulation programs. Support 3D printing and 3D scanning activities. Create digital simulations to evaluate manufacturing processes and assembly requirements. Update AutoCAD models and simulate proposed manufacturing layouts. Collaborate with internal departments, engineering teams, manufacturing facilities, support groups, and external partners. Prepare technical documentation and clearly communicate project findings and recommendations. Support additional digital manufacturing and production engineering activities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Integrated Technology, CAD, or a related field required. Proficiency with AutoCAD. Experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar 3D modeling software. Strong 3D modeling or simulation experience. Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Strong understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminology. Familiarity with finite element analysis. Experience with 3D printing through professional, academic, or personal projects. Understanding of 3D scanning technologies and applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams. Ability to travel up to 20% to manufacturing locations throughout North America and Japan. Valid driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets company standards. Preferred Certifications Finite Element Analysis certification.
