Process | Project Engineer (4383)

We've teamed up with a well-established food manufacturer in the Greater New Orleans area and they're seeking a Process & Project Management Engineer to support continuous improvement and capital project execution at its production facility. This role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, leading Lean initiatives, and managing capital projects to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and food safety compliance. Key Responsibilities Analyze and improve manufacturing processes for cooked foods, sauces, and seasoning blends Lead Lean initiatives including 5S, SMED, and waste reduction Manage capital projects up to $5MM from concept through installation and commissioning Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, and sanitary design standards Partner with Operations, Quality, R D, and Finance to drive operational improvements Develop SOPs, training programs, and structured daily management systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing or regulated processing environments Experience leading Lean / continuous improvement initiatives Proven ability to manage capital projects and process optimization Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills Preferred Experience Thermal processing, batching, blending, or ready-to-eat (RTE) systems WMS/MES systems Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
