JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer - Skids is responsible for manufacturing process development and production support for MXS' skid product lines. This role is responsible for process documentation, ERP routing structures, first article activities, manufacturing readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives for skid-mounted systems and industrial assemblies. This position develops standardized, scalable manufacturing processes that support complex industrial products and evolving customer requirements. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Design Engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturable designs, improve process efficiency, and maintain production continuity.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain work instructions, assembly sequences, and manufacturing process documentation Lead ERP routing configuration and validation for skid product lines Collaborate with Design Engineering to support manufacturable product designs Lead first article builds, process validation, and manufacturing readiness activities Provide technical support for production issues, floor escalations, and process improvements Maintain manufacturing documentation and revision control processes Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing efficiency, quality, safety, and production flow Assist with tooling, fixture, and staging process development for new product introductions Ensure manufacturing documentation reflects current production practices and quality standards Lead cross-functional teams during problem-solving and process improvement activities
QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred Experience in fabricated metal, industrial equipment, or related manufacturing environments strongly preferred Experience supporting complex assemblies or skid-mounted systems strongly preferred Experience developing work instructions and ERP routings in production environments Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing readiness activities preferred
Preferred Skills:
Strong understanding of industrial fabrication and assembly processes Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and related technical documentation Familiarity with welding processes and WPS/PQR documentation Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used, as necessary.
