PURPOSE:
Serve as a senior technical authority responsible for engineering leadership of manufacturing systems, process infrastructure, and production assets. Ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient operations by leading engineering initiatives, capital projects, and continuous improvement efforts that materially impact operational performance, safety, and asset reliability.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide engineering ownership for manufacturing systems and process infrastructure, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operation
  • Lead capital projects from concept through commissioning, including scope definition, cost estimation, vendor coordination, execution oversight, and startup support
  • Engineer and oversee system modifications and upgrades to improve safety, reliability, capacity, and regulatory compliance
  • Resolve complex equipment and process issues impacting safety, quality, throughput, and overall operational performance using structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce engineering standards, technical specifications, operating procedures, and system documentation
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Health, Safety, and Environmental teams to implement reliability, risk reduction, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement activities such as process optimization, debottlenecking, capacity expansion, asset lifecycle improvements, and cost reduction projects
  • Ensure engineering designs and system modifications align with applicable regulatory, safety, and industry standards
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers, technicians, and operators, reinforcing disciplined engineering practices and knowledge transfer
  • Own capital funding requests, business case development, and ROI justification
  • Serve as a technical mentor and informal leader
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline
  • 10+ years' experience supporting manufacturing operations, production systems, or industrial process equipment
  • Proven experience leading capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor oversight, and vendor management
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and safe design principles
  • Proficiency with common engineering and project management tools
  • Experience with manufacturing automation, controls, and instrumentation (PLC controlled equipment, sensors, interlocks, alarms)
  • Experience working with flammable liquids, including safe handling, storage, and process design in compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations
  • Comfortable working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including off shift support during critical events or startups
  • Able to travel up 15% of time.
