Role:

Provide hands-on quality support for high-volume consumer technology production. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will monitor shop-floor quality, support rapid defect containment, maintain strong production yields, and help prevent quality escapes during active manufacturing ramps for advanced metal components. Working directly with operators, machinists, and engineers, this role will perform inspections, evaluate nonconforming material, investigate failures, and support continuous improvement. This is a full-time, on-site position in Devens, MA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily quality support to consumer technology production lines
  • Monitor line yields, scrap rates, first-pass yield, and other quality performance metrics
  • Lead immediate containment activities and support Material Review Board evaluations for nonconforming lots
  • Isolate defect trends and coordinate corrective actions to minimize production downtime
  • Set up and perform optical, CMM, dimensional, and cosmetic inspections using applicable AQL standards
  • Prepare First Article Inspection Reports and verify dimensional and mechanical compliance
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Support defect investigations using 8D, 5-Why, and other root-cause analysis methods
  • Collect photographs, measurements, physical evidence, and other data to support investigations
  • Conduct regular operator observation walks and verify adherence to quality procedures
  • Audit line-clearance activities to prevent product mix-ups and contamination
  • Ensure Device History Records, lot travelers, inspection records, and other documentation are complete and compliant
  • Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience in high-volume hardware, consumer electronics, precision machining, or advanced metal manufacturing
  • Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and
ASME Y14.5

standards

  • Experience using metrology equipment such as CMMs, optical comparators, and height gauges
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control and quality data analysis
  • Experience with 8D, 5-Why, and other root-cause troubleshooting methods
  • Ability to respond quickly to quality issues in a fast-paced, high-rate manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, machinists, engineers, and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with consumer technology enclosures, metal additive manufacturing, CNC machining, or specialized surface finishing
  • Familiarity with anodizing, polishing, heat treatment, or other high-finish manufacturing processes
  • ASQ certification, including CQE or CQA
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or comparable continuous improvement experience
Compensation:
  • Annual Salary Range: \$75,000
