    Role:
    Serve as a data-driven architect of operational excellence, optimizing high-precision workflows and lights-out manufacturing strategies that support VulcanForms\' production scale. Apply industrial engineering principles and manufacturing data to eliminate waste, simplify processes, and maximize 24/7 factory scalability. Own the tracking, analysis, and optimization of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across advanced manufacturing cells. Identify constraints, high-cost labor areas, and low-throughput processes, then develop engineered solutions and standardized guidelines to improve factory uptime and cost efficiency.
    Team:
    Join the Engineering team in Devens, MA. The team works closely with Operations, Quality, Automation Projects Engineering, and other cross-functional groups to develop scalable factory systems, integrate automation and third-party machinery, and improve advanced additive manufacturing and precision machining operations.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead data collection, analysis, and improvement tracking for OEE and system constraints
    • Identify operational bottlenecks, high-cost labor areas, and low-throughput processes
    • Maintain the detailed factory simulation model and full value stream map
    • Identify upcoming changes and potential impacts, establishing contingencies to protect operational goals
    • Align factory capacity and efficiency plans with company strategy
    • Ensure facilities are prepared for new products and proactively address capacity constraints
    • Develop and validate factory efficiency and integration guidelines across facilities
    • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Automation Projects Engineering teams
    • Ensure new automation cells and third-party machinery integrate seamlessly into factory workflows
    • Protect existing throughput during equipment, process, and automation changes
    • Develop solutions that improve efficiency, uptime, throughput, and cost performance
    Qualifications:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement in a high-precision production environment
    • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
    • Expert knowledge of automation, discrete event simulation, Python scripting, material flow planning, and 2D and 3D factory CAD systems
    • Strong manufacturing data analysis, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience developing efficiency models for highly automated or lights-out manufacturing
    • Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing environments
    • Knowledge of capacity, powder-handling, and post-processing bottlenecks
    • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
    Compensation:
    • Annual base salary range: \$115,400 to \$158,700
    • Actual compensation is based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
