    Role:
    VulcanForms is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer
    • Consumer Technology to serve as the technical quality lead for active volume-production lines in Devens, MA.
    This role supports the production of high-consequence metal components for consumer technology programs and partners closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Supplier Quality, and Customer Quality teams. The Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer will drive yield improvement, reduce process variation, maintain production quality systems, and prevent quality escapes during high-volume production ramps. The role will lead data-driven root-cause investigations, oversee PFMEAs and Control Plans, establish SPC frameworks, and support customer approvals and line qualification activities.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Serve as the primary technical quality authority for assigned consumer electronics production lines
    • Analyze line-yield data, Pareto trends, Cpk metrics, and other quality data to identify and reduce process variation
    • Lead cross-functional root-cause investigations involving mechanical, metallurgical, cosmetic, and process-related defects
    • Develop and enforce robust Corrective and Preventive Actions using 8D and other structured problem-solving methods
    • Own and maintain Process FMEAs, Quality Control Plans, and SPC monitoring for Critical-to-Quality features
    • Establish and maintain production quality documentation and inspection requirements
    • Partner with customer quality teams on technical inquiries, First Article Inspection Report approvals, and line qualification audits
    • Support engineering change order execution and ensure process changes are implemented without disrupting production output
    • Evaluate incoming raw material quality, including metal powder lots and raw stock chemistry
    • Work with Supplier Quality to investigate and resolve material-related defect modes
    • Lead daily quality standups with Manufacturing Engineers, line leads, and floor technicians
    • Promote defect prevention, process discipline, and zero-escape quality throughout production
    • Support continuous improvement, production yield, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing-readiness objectives
    Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of progressive Quality Engineering experience in consumer technology, high-volume hardware manufacturing, or precision metal component production
    • Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field
    • Equivalent hands-on industry experience may be considered
    • Strong knowledge of 8D problem-solving, SPC, Cpk analysis, GD&T, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA/Gauge R&R, and AQL sampling
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or
    ISO 13485
    quality management systems
    • Experience with engineering change management and high-rate mass-production ramp environments
    • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
