Job Description As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical hardware issues during assembly, integration, and final testing. Your expertise in diagnosing problems on the production floor and implementing sustainable solutions will ensure the smooth functioning of our assembly line. You will lead structured root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence in future builds and at customer sites. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical hardware issues during assembly and integration. Lead root-cause investigations using methods like DFMEA, Fishbone diagrams, and 8D to implement permanent corrective actions. Develop and maintain clear assembly instructions, work instructions, and technician training materials. Execute engineering changes, deviations, and rework directives in production while coordinating with planning and the shop floor. Contribute to manufacturing readiness reviews, design reviews, and tool risk assessments. Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Field Service, and Supply Chain to address and resolve factory and field issues. Drive continuous improvement in manufacturability, build repeatability, and product quality. Identify and implement changes to reduce costs, improve cycle time, and eliminate defects. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, sustaining engineering, or hardware support engineering. Experience sustaining production lines for complex electromechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, 3D models, BOMs, and technical documentation. Proficiency in structured problem-solving methods such as DFMEA, 8D, and Fishbone analysis. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical hardware on a production floor. Comfortable working on the production floor and presenting findings and proposals to plant leadership. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with semiconductor capital equipment is preferred. Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP for processing engineering changes and managing production data. Experience supporting suppliers or contract manufacturing partners on hardware quality and production issues. Skilled in creating process documentation that improves build consistency. Work Environment You will be working hands-on on the production floor, alongside technicians, engaging with vacuum pumps, Swagelok, Nupro, valves, motors, cryopumps, semiconductor equipment, and manufacturing equipment. The role involves practical engagement with electromechanical systems and devices in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Beverly, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
