Description:
We are seeking a technically strong and customer-focused Project Engineer to manage projects from initial sales engagement through successful delivery. This role combines engineering, project management, customer communication, and commercial responsibility , making it an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who enjoys working directly with customers and cross-functional teams. The Project Engineer will serve as a key point of contact for customers following contract award and will coordinate internal engineering and project resources to ensure projects meet technical, schedule, quality, and financial objectives. Defense industry experience is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Manage projects from contract award through completion, serving as the primary customer contact Coordinate with customers, internal stakeholders, and multiple engineering disciplines Review customer requirements and ensure projects meet technical specifications and quality standards Manage project budgets, schedules, milestones, and resources Respond to customer inquiries and help identify appropriate technical solutions Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to provide project visibility for internal and external stakeholders Lead customer status meetings covering project schedule, costs, milestones, and progress Monitor project financial performance and maintain responsibility for overall project profitability Support contract management and ensure project requirements are properly communicated and executed Identify potential project risks and coordinate appropriate corrective actions Collaborate across engineering, sales, operations, and other functional teams to ensure successful project execution Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, another technical discipline, Business, or a related field 2-3 years of professional experience in engineering, project engineering, project management, or a related technical environment Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand engineering requirements and customer needs Experience with contract management Experience with SAP Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Strong customer-service orientation and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team High level of ownership, dedication, and accountability Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills Defense/aerospace industry experience strongly preferred What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a technically minded project professional who can communicate effectively with both engineers and customers. You should be comfortable taking ownership of projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring customers remain informed throughout the project lifecycle.
