B.M.C. Durfee High School B.M.C. Durfee High School Career & Technical Education Department Chapter 74 Engineering Instructor B.M.C. Durfee High School is seeking a qualified and student-centered Engineering Instructor to join our Career and Technical Education Department. The successful candidate will provide classroom, laboratory, and project-based instruction to students enrolled in our state-approved Chapter 74 Engineering program, preparing them for college, careers, and industry opportunities in engineering and advanced manufacturing fields.
Qualifications Required:
Massachusetts Chapter 74 Vocational Technical Teacher License in Engineering Technology or eligibility to obtain licensure. Minimum of three years of recent industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, engineering technology, CAD/CAM, robotics, automation, or a related field. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Experience using industry-standard engineering software and equipment.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Experience with CAD software, 3D printing, robotics, CNC machining, automation, or engineering design processes. Experience working with high school students in a Career and Technical Education setting.
Responsibilities:
Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Massachusetts Chapter 74 Engineering frameworks. Teach engineering design, problem-solving, technical drawing, manufacturing processes, robotics, automation, and related engineering concepts. Provide hands-on, project-based learning experiences that prepare students for post-secondary education and careers. Supervise students in classroom, laboratory, and work-based learning environments. Maintain a safe, organized, and industry-relevant engineering laboratory. Collaborate with colleagues, families, post-secondary partners, and industry representatives to support student success. Participate in advisory committee activities, professional development, SkillsUSA, and Chapter 74 program requirements. Support student participation in engineering competitions, internships, and work-based learning opportunities. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CTE Director to support the operation, growth, and success of the Engineering program and the Career & Technical Education Department.
