ABOUT THE POSITION
The Manufacturing Engineer will primarily be responsible for designing, improving and optimizing production processes, tooling, and manufacturing instructions to ensure products are made efficiently, safely and to quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following functions are key to success in this position: Develop and monitor production controls and follow all established health, safety and environmental policies Contribute to major projects involving all aspects of Production including process evaluation, troubleshooting, monitoring process performance, making recommendations for Capital Equipment and implementing process (continuous) improvements Support manufacturing operations activities to characterize, stabilize and improve CPS processes, yields, and efficiencies including implementation of new manufacturing processes and/or equipment Work closely with other engineers and the production team to drive initiatives to reduce scrap and rework levels, eliminate waste, improve overall efficiency, and ensure quality and safety are built into processes at every step
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Engineering, Manufacturing, Metallurgical, Material Science, Mechanical, Industrial, or a similar discipline is required; U.S. citizenship required. Must have at least 2-4 years of proven experience as an MFE or similar role. Excellent knowledge of statistical process control methods and analysis; manufacturing methods; and general engineering knowledge. Experience working in an
ISO 9001
environment. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills with knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma, 5S, A3 and 8D quality improvement methods. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, high work standards and attention to detail. Expected to work both independently and on teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
General Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering experience: 5+ years Automation design, programming, integrating PLC's, troubleshooting and optimizing existing automated systems. Background with capital projects. Process Qualification & Metrology Experience working with QA to define acceptance criteria. Familiarity with standard metrology tools and inspection criteria. Experience in creating supporting documentation to ensure processes are recorded and followed. Injection Molding Understanding of injection molding principles. Familiarity with injection molding mold design and material flow as well as preventative maintenance requirements of injection molders. Casting Experience with casting aluminum or other alloys. Understanding of the thermal process and importance of critical time and temperatures to achieve proper casting outputs. Demolding process and mold life assessment. Cross-functional Process Development Support New Product Development (NPD) by advising on thermal limitations in design Collaborate with machining on pre/post heat treatment dimension shifts or fixturing strategies Lead continuous improvement of thermal cycles for energy savings, throughput, or quality Machining experience Experience with CNC Milling centers, Haas, Robodrill, Doosan 5-Axis. Background with Fanuc, Mitsubishi & Siemens Controls Post processing machined parts, tumbling, stamping, sandblasting, deburring.

COMPENSATION
Base salary of $110K-$140K Compensation level is related to individual skills, capabilities, experiences, etc. CPS Technologies offers an attractive compensation package that includes 401k matching, medical/dental/vision, flexible paid time off and more.
