Process & Equipment Expertise:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of company processes, equipment, and control systems from scrap melting through to finished product. Daily activities include analyzing and improving these systems to enhance production flow and quality. Success means driving continuous improvements that reduce costs and improve safety and quality.Technology & Innovation:
Lead efforts to identify, validate, and implement new technologies and automated solutions. This includes staying current with industry advancements and applying them to improve efficiency and safety.Project Leadership:
Collaborate cross-functionally with Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Controls teams to plan, purchase, and install new equipment and projects. Manage project scopes, lead meetings, and communicate progress effectively. Success is measured by seamless integration of new systems and achievement of project goals.Problem Solving & Data Analysis:
Use a systematic, data-driven approach to troubleshoot and resolve process control issues, employing statistical analysis and fact-based discussions. Ownership of problems through to resolution is essential.Safety First:
Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel required, primarily site visits as needed. What you'll bringMust-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- 5+ years of manufacturing, industrial, or electrical/controls engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Proven experience driving process improvements to enhance safety, reduce costs, and implement quality and process control systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), HMI, and control systems
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with industrial robotic systems, CAD/CAM, and advanced process controls
- Project management experience including developing scopes and commissioning production equipment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive change initiatives
