About Our Client Our client designs and supports highly specialized manufacturing equipment used in precision machining environments. It combines global engineering expertise with a close‑knit local R D and applications team. Job Description This Mechanical Design Engineer will be: Designing automated machine accessories and mechanical systems Leading mechanical design efforts from concept through implementation Creating customer‑specific design solutions and strategies Selecting components including actuators, motors, and sensors Creating detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs Supporting CNC machine integration and first‑article builds Collaborating with controls, fabrication, and vendors Supporting installation and post‑deployment technical issues Reviewing designs and mentoring junior engineers MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant A successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have: Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline 7+ years of mechanical design engineering experience Experience working with CNC machines or machine tools Strong mechanical design and component selection background Experience training or guiding other engineers Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes Strong communication and documentation skills What's on Offer Senior‑level role with technical ownership Exposure to advanced CNC and automation technology Small, collaborative engineering team Minimal customer travel requirements Stable, in‑person R D environment Competitive compensation and benefits
