Potential Extension/Conversion Shift:
Primarily 2nd Shift (2:30 PM-10:30 PM) Position Overvie wSeeking a Mechanical NPI / Manufacturing Enginee r to support prototype and new product builds for advanced robotic systems. This role will work hands-on with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to establish efficient and safe assembly processes and support production ramp-up Key Responsibiliti esLead/suppor t NPI builds on the manufacturing flo o r.
Set up prototype and production build areas, includin g tools, equipment, fixtures, assembly stations, and material stagi n g.
Create clear, operator-friendl y assembly work instructio ns using CAD models, drawings, images, and build documentatio n.
Design/specif y fixtures, tooling, material-handling equipment, and ergonomic solutio n s.
Read and interpre t CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specificatio n s.
Identify assembly/manufacturing risks and provid e DFM/DFA feedba c k.
Troubleshoot build issues and drive timely corrective action s.
Partner closely wit h Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, Safety, and technicia n s.
Support evolving designs and incomplete documentation in a fast-paced environmen t.
Ensure appropriat e safety and ergonomic requiremen ts are incorporated into build processe s.
Required Qualificatio nsBachelor's degree i n Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineeri ng, or related fiel d.
Hands-o n NPI/prototype build experien ce in a manufacturing environmen t.
Experience wit h complex mechanical products and assembli e s.
Strong CAD and engineering drawing interpretation skill s.
Experience wit h fixtures, tooling, jigs, workstations, or material-handling solutio n s.
Experience creatin g assembly instructions/work documentati o n.
Stron g DFM/DFA and manufacturing troubleshooti ng experienc e.
Excellent written and verbal communication skill s.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmen t.
Preferred Backgrou ndRobotics, automation, aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, or other complex mechanical manufacturin g.
Experience wit h Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, PFMEA, ergonomics, and safe t y.
Experience supporting production ramp-up and prototype build s.
Ideal Candidate:
A hands-on Mechanical/NPI Engineer who has personally supported builds, fixtures/tooling, assembly stations, work instructions, and manufacturing troubleshooting-not just documentation or project coordinati on.
