Responsible for leading the design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes supporting precision machining operations. This role serves as the senior technical authority for manufacturing engineering, driving improvements in productivity, quality, and cost through advanced CNC machining strategies, tool development, process optimization, and automation integration. Mentor members of the Manufacturing Engineering team and establish best practices in process development, CNC programming, and process control. This position will play a key role in modernizing machining operations through advanced CNC programming, automation integration, and high-efficiency manufacturing system design. Works closely with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to support operational performance and new product introductions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Manufacturing Engineering team. Participate in the development and design of manufacturing processes for new and existing products. Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, concepts, specifications, and customer requirements as applicable to manufacturing processes. Develop and produce process plans and work instructions for manufacturing modifications and process improvements. Develop manufacturing processes for new products and ensure processes meet design and quality specifications. Design and implement tooling, fixturing, and gauges required for new or modified products and processes. Develop process controls and engineering validation methods to ensure consistent product quality. Confer with design engineering personnel to develop product and process improvement opportunities. Provide technical support for manufacturing operations by troubleshooting process problems and implementing corrective actions. Ability to work closely with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams. Analyze existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, cycle time, throughput, and cost effectiveness. Confer with production personnel to ensure new processes and process improvements function effectively. Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel regarding new manufacturing processes. Assist Quality Assurance personnel in developing inspection methods and resolving technical issues. Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines.\ Develop and maintain CNC programs using CAD/CAM systems as required. Prepare engineering reports and documentation as requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent working knowledge. Master s degree a plus 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in a precision machining or high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience with CAD/CAM systems and CNC programming, CNC machining processes, tooling strategies, and process optimization. Experience implementing machine automation, robotic part handling, or automated machining cells. Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and dimensional inspection methods.
