Job Description

Our client in Worcester is looking to bring on a Tool Design Engineer. This is a direct hire opportunity. Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical tools, fixtures, and jigs using advanced CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo to ensure precision and manufacturability. Create detailed schematics, technical drawings, and documentation adhering to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and ASME codes & standards. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize tool designs for CNC machining, 3D printing, and other fabrication methods. Conduct root cause analysis on tool failures or inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions to improve durability and performance. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW to validate design integrity under operational conditions. Integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino systems, or other automation components into tool systems for enhanced functionality. Support system design efforts by developing schematics and control logic for complex mechanical-electrical integration projects involving quantum engineering principles where applicable. Skills 3+ years working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Tooling Engineering. Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks and Creo for mechanical design and drafting. Strong understanding of GD&T principles, ASME codes & standards, and mechanical engineering fundamentals. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, 3D printing, and FEA analysis techniques. Ability to perform root cause analysis on tool failures or performance issues with effective troubleshooting skills.
Pay:
$85,229.02 - $100,000.00 per year
