About the Company An established global manufacturer and engineering business specializing in infrastructure solutions for mission-critical environments is seeking a Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The company operates internationally across multiple manufacturing facilities and is focused on innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable product development. About the Role The Design Engineer is responsible for supporting new product development, engineering changes, and manufacturing process improvements. The role focuses on product design, technical documentation, prototyping, manufacturing feasibility, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will work closely with production, purchasing, quality, and operations teams to develop practical and manufacturable engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop processes and solutions for new product families alongside production, purchasing, quality, and operations teams. Use design-for-manufacturing principles to create components and assemblies suited for proprietary manufacturing methods. Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings. Support product development through prototyping and manufacturing process analysis. Anticipate future design modifications and incorporate scalable engineering solutions where possible. Prepare quotations and maintain technical documentation throughout the design and quoting process. Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation. Manage new part number creation, bills of materials (BOMs), and labor routing updates. Interpret customer requirements, architectural drawings, and project specifications to assess feasibility, timelines, and technical challenges. Produce technical submittal documentation for project approvals. Support manufacturing teams with process development and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure adherence to quality, safety, environmental, and compliance standards. Additional Expectations Comply with all company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct. Support product compliance initiatives in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Contribute toward maintaining compliance management systems and reporting any concerns appropriately. RequirementsEducation Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM discipline required. Experience Up to 5 years of experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred. Experience with new product development and manufacturing processes advantageous. Project management exposure beneficial. Technical Skills Strong proficiency in SolidWorks required. Experience with 2D and 3D CAD systems required. AutoCAD and Revit experience advantageous. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) beneficial. Understanding of engineering drawing standards and manufacturing controls preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications. Soft Skills Strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
