Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer Job Description The Junior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for advising, assisting and improving manufacturing processes to promote efficient and economical utilization of personnel and facilities. Responsibilities 1. Develop, evaluate and improve current manufacturing methodologies, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards 2. Confer with vendors and customers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts 3. Estimate production times and assist with planning staffing requirements and costs related to tooling in the production quotation process 4. Confer with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and production schedules to facilitate production processes 5. Analyze and plan workflow of surface mount, thru-hole printed circuit boards and electro-mechanical assemblies 6. Design, sketch, implement and document the utilization of specialty assembly tools 7. Configure and calibrate production equipment as necessary to support production needs 8. Troubleshoot common equipment failures 9. Repair equipment on the production floor using standard electrical and mechanical measuring equipment 10. Develop procedures per
ISO/AS9100D/J-STD-001
standards 11. Manage and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, both electrical and mechanical 12. Assist with the creation or create production software programs for the SMT machines, AOI's or other production area equipment as required 13. Contact equipment manufacturers and suppliers for equipment troubleshooting, evaluation of equipment for replacement and evaluation of new equipment manufacturers as needed 14. Oversee and provide guidance on tasks associated with bonding adhesives, such as EP30AO and solder paste, and specialized processes, specifically conformal coating 15. Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality 16. Identify and evaluate new tools that allow each group to perform in the most efficient manner 17. Verify new and existing machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications and requirements 18. Other duties as assigned Essential Skills
+ BS/ BA in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred) + 1-3 years of related experience
+ Root cause analysis & corrective actions
+ Mechanical/ Electrical Assembly technical drawing reviews Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of assembly for printed circuit boards
+ Mechanical/ machine programming experience for equipment used to assembly surface mount and thru-hold printed wiring boards Work Environment The company has roughly 200 employees, and this role reports to the Quality Manager. There is flexibility in start times, with the latest starting time being 8 am. The work environment offers opportunities for upward mobility. Work Type This is a on-site and permanet position based out of Frederick, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Five (5) weeks PTO per year Eight (8) paid holidays per year 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with employer match Medical/Dental/Vision coverage (first of the month following hire date)
