Manufacturing Operations Manager A well-established manufacturing company in the Sanford, ME area is seeking a Process Engineer to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, increase productivity, and support the development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies. This is a direct-hire, full-time, salaried opportunity offering $70,000-$80,000 per year with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule. The Process Engineer will work closely with manufacturing, safety, and engineering teams to improve production performance through Lean manufacturing, process development, automation, robotics, and additive manufacturing. What You'll Do Create detailed work instructions and visual aids to support production productivity and quality standards Estimate production setup and run times, material costs, and perform time studies for cost analysis Propose, sponsor, and lead projects focused on improving manufacturing performance, reducing costs, improving yields, and reducing cycle times Apply Lean manufacturing tools to identify and eliminate waste throughout production processes Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layouts to improve manufacturing efficiency Assist in designing testing methods to evaluate process capabilities, establish standards, and validate process requirements Work with plant safety and engineering teams to ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and proposed improvements meet applicable safety requirements Create and maintain production data and Routings (Bills of Operations) Assist with the selection, installation, setup, and startup of machines and equipment within production areas Support machine programming, workholding, and fixturing activities Support collaborative robotics (cobot) applications from identifying opportunities and developing concepts through programming, integration, and continuous improvement Help drive the adoption and expansion of 3-D printing and additive manufacturing Use rapid prototyping and production tooling to move ideas from concept to the shop floor Focus on doing the job right the first time to ensure customer satisfaction Use Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste, including scrap, rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, overproduction, overprocessing, and under-utilization of people Apply systemic thinking by evaluating processes from end to end and identifying root causes of problems Participate in individual and team activities focused on improving the flow of information and materials Perform other duties as required What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field such as Process Engineering Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision Highly motivated and results-oriented Commitment to achieving organizational goals Excellent communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage projects and drive process improvements Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and concepts Experience with 3-D printing and/or robotics is strongly preferred Ability to work effectively with manufacturing, safety, and engineering teams Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction Engineering & Process Improvement Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and visual aids Perform time studies and production cost analysis Analyze manufacturing workflows and equipment layouts Develop and improve production processes Support equipment selection, installation, setup, and startup Assist with machine programming, workholding, and fixturing Support robotics and automation initiatives Expand the use of 3-D printing and additive manufacturing Lead Lean manufacturing projects focused on improving productivity, quality, yields, and cycle times Identify and eliminate waste and root causes throughout manufacturing processes Benefits Direct-hire, full-time position $70,000-$80,000 annual salary Monday-Friday schedule 7:00 AM-3:30 PM work schedule Onsite position in Sanford, Maine Opportunity to work with robotics, automation, and additive manufacturing Opportunity to lead manufacturing process improvement initiatives Masis Staffing is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
