Job Title:
Solidworks Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Solidworks Design Engineer who will be responsible for transforming customer problems into innovative product design solutions. The role involves creating customer quotes detailing the what, when, and how much of their components, as well as overseeing the complete delivery of these solutions from inception to completion. You will collaborate closely with Sales Engineers to integrate new products into solutions and coach engineers within the department to enhance their capabilities. Responsibilities Translate customer problems into new product design solutions. Create and manage customer quotes for components. Oversee the delivery of solutions, ensuring cost, fit, function, and timing are met. Collaborate with Sales Engineers to incorporate new products into solutions. Coach and develop the engineering team in AS processes and engineering excellence. Support the creation and maintenance of mechanical best practices. Essential Skills 1+ years of experience designing in Solidworks, with consideration for those with extensive experience in other design software. Experience with sheet metal, metal bending, and fabrication, potentially from a stamping Experience in FEA/CAE, including simulation, load testing, and design simulation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. OEM Experience, particularly from companies like Ford or Stellantis. Work Environment Join a small engineering team of 6-7 members working in an office cubicle setting within a large facility of approximately 130,000 square feet. The role may occasionally involve customer calls and discussions with the sales team. The facility offers a dynamic environment suitable for large-scale van outfitting and specializes in various markets, including HVAC, Telecommunications, Logistics, Automotive, and Skilled Trades. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Adrian, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $49.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
