We specialize in hose and tube assemblies for AC/heating lines servicing heavy trucks, agriculture, and construction vehicles.

Exempt Summary The Mechanical Design Engineer would be under the direction of the Sr. Process Design Engineer. You will collaborate with quality, and production staff to make sure that parts run smoothly and properly through production. Essential Functions
  • Assessing a design brief to gauge the design requirements.
  • Conducting and/or using research on user experience and needs, current market trends and general functionality
  • Work closely with the production floor to streamline products successfully.
  • Developing solutions that solve user problems.
  • Determining whether a design solution is user-friendly, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
  • Creating multiple iterations of design prototypes using computer-aided design tools
  • Conducting rigorous usability tests and modifying the product based on the test results.
  • Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations.
  • Keeping all internal and customer designs confidential, only saving this information on protected company computers, hard drives, shared drives etc.
  • Documenting the design process and presenting progress reports to the Director of Engineering.
  • Any other tasks assigned by management.
Education, and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering. At least 5 years of process/design engineering experience required. Knowledge, Skills, and other Abilities CAD Design
SOLIDWORKS / TUBEWORKS
(Plus) Creating Plant Floor Layouts / Prints (Plus) Understanding of Pneumatic Logic (Plus) Poka-Yoke Designs 3D Printer 3D modeling Licensing/Certifications None Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Vehicles Used CNC Machines End Forming Equipment Drilling Machines Metal Cutting Saws Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stand; talk and hear; walk; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and lift or move up to fifteen (15) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral visions, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions The incumbent works both in an office environment and production floor, sitting for prolonged periods at a desk with a computer or standing/walking for a prolonged period out on the production floor. While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents, analyze and solve problems, use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or new skills; work under deadlines and constant interruptions; interact with staff and other organizations; and frequently deal with dissatisfied or quarrelsome individuals.
