Job Description
Clausing Industrial is seeking a CNC Machine Tool Technical Support Specialist to join our team. This position provides phone and email support for industrial CNC machine tools used in manufacturing environments. This is not an IT, networking, or software help desk position. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with CNC machinery, and the ability to interpret technical documentation such as electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and machine drawings. Responsibilities Provide phone and email technical support for customers troubleshooting CNC machine tools and related equipment Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control related issues Identify and research replacement parts using machine manuals, schematics, and technical documentation Assist customers with troubleshooting CNC controls including Fanuc, Acu-Rite, Fagor, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and similar systems Maintain and organize technical files, manuals, and service documentation within the master database Communicate effectively with customers, service technicians, engineering, and internal departments to resolve technical issues efficiently Assist with documenting recurring issues and developing troubleshooting procedures Qualifications Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, ladder diagrams, and mechanical drawings Strong troubleshooting skills involving industrial machinery and CNC equipment Experience with machine tool components including servo systems, spindle drives, encoders, ball screws, lubrication systems, limit switches, and hydraulic systems preferred Familiarity with CNC machine operation and industrial manufacturing environments strongly preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Windows-based PC applications and CNC service software tools Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Reliable attendance and strong customer service mindset Preferred Experience Prior experience in CNC machine tool service, maintenance, manufacturing, or technical support Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, Fagor, Mitsubishi, Acu-Rite, or similar CNC controls Experience supporting mills, lathes, grinders, or other industrial machine tools Please Note Applicants whose experience is limited to IT help desk support, desktop support, networking, or software-only troubleshooting are unlikely to be a fit for this position.
