Job Description

Job Description Summary GE Aerospace operates three cutting-edge manufacturing facilities in the Muskegon area. Our plants are home to high performance teams who are creating quality High Pressure Turbine Nozzles, Low Pressure Turbine Nozzles, and Shrouds for use in commercial and military aircraft engines. The manufacturing processes we use include High Speed Grinding, Brazing / Heat Treat, In-machine deburr, Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) such as Conventional, Speed Drills, CNC and Wire as well as Ultrasonic Cleaning and VPA Coating. As the Manufacturing Product Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are designed, industrialized, and produced safely, with high quality, on time, and at optimal cost. In this role, you will serve as the technical link between design engineering, manufacturing operations, supply chain, and quality, driving continuous improvement in product performance and producibility.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure all processes and tooling comply with EHS requirements and risk assessments; actively participate in hazard identification and mitigation Partner with Quality to define CTQs, control plans, and inspection methods; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for product nonconformances Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and support attainment of the production schedule Identify and execute cost-reduction and yield-improvement projects (cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, tooling optimization, etc.) Work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, design, supply chain, and suppliers to resolve issues and implement improvements Provide technical training and coaching to operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, or product changes Participate in continuous improvement / lean activities (kaizen events, value stream mapping, 5S, standard work)
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience withing a manufacturing setting)
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment Previous experience as product owner in a fast-paced manufacturing setting Familiarity with structured problem-solving tools such as 5-why, Fishbone, PDCA, or 8D for product and process issues Understanding of process capability and process control tools Previous experience with CBN grinding and EDM machining
