Currently we are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Designer designs and details all assigned projects and remains involved through all phases of the project to ensure projects meet all customer requirements and deadlines. They will identify any issues or discrepancies as soon as possible and coordinate resolutions to mitigate risk at the direction of the Engineering Manager. Additionally, they will assist sales staff with concepts, estimating, or putting together detailed quotes for customers. They will work with other design staff and help identify ways to lean up designs. They will work with purchasing staff, selecting purchase components and help identify any overspending. They will complete deliverables, manuals and other documentation as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Understanding of equipment manufacturing and all phases of the design and build process Proficient in Solidworks, Onshape or other 3D CAD programs Capable of taking a design from the customer's specs through concept, prototype and final rendering with complete manufacturing drawings and 3D models, at the direction of the lead engineer. Ability to calculate size and select drivetrain and fluid power components (such as sizing electric motors using weights and speeds) to calculate horsepower requirements at the direction of the lead engineer (preferred but not required Understand basic controls components such as sensors, cables, disconnects, valves, manifolds, and junction boxes. Strong internet research skills Proficient computer skills and familiarity of programs such as MS Office Suite (including Excel and Project), CAD viewers and MRP software Strong written and verbal communication skills Organized with the ability to multitask and manage time well Proficient reading blueprints Strong math skills Strong analytical stills Strong visualization skills Highly creative
