Job Description
Overview Blue Photon is seeking a dynamic and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our cutting-edge production team. In this role, you will drive manufacturing excellence by designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes across various production lines. Your expertise will help ensure high-quality output, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge, engineering skills, and passion for manufacturing to make a tangible impact on our company and it's products. Workday is Monday-Thursday 8-4 with occasional paid overtime on Fridays. Duties Develop and maintain work instructions, operation sheets, and job travelers for new and repeat jobs. Define machining sequences, tooling selections, fixturing approaches, and inspection requirements. Collaborate with estimating and sales to review RFQs, provide manufacturability feedback, and support quoting. Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and communicate findings to customers as needed. Resolve day-to-day production issues related to tooling, setups, feeds and speeds, tolerances, and part quality. Apply lean manufacturing and 5S methodologies across the shop floor. Support the quality team in root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) for non-conformances. Skills Strong project scheduling abilities to manage multiple process improvement initiatives simultaneously. Expertise in root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues effectively. Hands-on experience programming CNC machines. Familiarity with GD&T standards, tooling design, CNC programming Experience working in a manufacturing facility environment with a focus on continuous improvement methodologies like lean manufacturing. Automation experience is a plus.
