Job Description

Responsible for leading corporate development projects and smart factory; lead through the production launch of metal seat structures and mechanisms processes consisting of stampings, weldments, rivets, fasteners, clinching, and various other automated and manual assembly methods and procedures through Smart Manufacturing and I4.0 concepts; as a smart manufacturing leader the role, develop and manage project budgets throughout the life of a program; understand and evaluate the business case, and responsible for make or buy decisions; prepare quote requests, and evaluate and compare initial source quotes and processes; manage all aspects of proprietary equipment and tool build at external equipment integrators; provide engineering support of metallurgy including steel grades, heat treating, formability, welding, laser, GMAW, and resistance; provide engineering support for proprietary automated assembly lines including fixture design, part lift-up, process parameters, and equipment; maximize efficiency by analyzing line layouts, workflow, assembly methods, change-over-fixtures and tooling, gauges, and work-in-process (WIP) handling; serve as liaison with production plants throughout the program development and launch, and provide engineering support as needed thereafter; utilize
PLC, HMI & SCADA
programming, cybersecurity standards & policies, process simulation development, Six Sigma, Payback, projects management, smart manufacturing, risk assessment, augmented reality, and Industry 4.0 tools to perform duties; collaborate with Product Engineering to ensure parts and assemblies are designed and toleranced to allow manufacturing best practices to be used; collaborate with quality engineers to develop Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), process flow charts, and control plans within corporate processes and procedures; collaborate with Information Technology for operational technology, cybersecurity and protocol selection, data analysis and infrastructure development and MES designing; provide engineering support to Program Management generated macro-schedules with detailed timing, ensuring that all project milestones are tracked and completed on time; and provide a broad depth of knowledge and expertise to plan and accomplish corporate goals while using a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Southfield, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary:
$107,122 per year;
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience:
Two (2) years in the position above, as an Assistant Manager - AME, as an Automation Engineer, as a Manufacturing Engineer, or in a related occupation;
